The Letters
This is my very first attempt at a song fic.
This is set about 25 years after Nemesis. It contains some spoilers for Over a Torrent Sea.
Disclaimers: Dreaming Under The Same Moon is written by Tim Johnson, Dave Malloy, and Marabeth Poole. It's performed by Julianne Hough and her brother Derek Hough. Most of the characters are CBS/Paramount's and Trek writers. One of them is my creation.

Letter 1 - Andy to Tasha
"Hey sis, we've arrived safely on Earth and I'm slowly getting settled into my dorm room. I haven't met my roommate yet but he's scheduled to arrive tomorrow. With Starfleet being such a small world, I can't help but wonder if his parents have ever crossed paths with Mom and Dad.
"Speaking of Mom and Dad, they said hi and will be coming to visit you next week. They left for a weekend in Alaska. They said it was to relax after all the preparations for their transfers to Starfleet Command but I think they're planning on a romantic weekend. I'm not 100% sure but I think Mom's going through the early stages of The Phase. I heard Dad ask if she was sure and Mom said that she was pretty sure. Dad then said and I quote `I'm in for it now.'
"I've got to run. I'm meeting Robert for dinner. He's going to show me some of the fun places here in San Francisco. I'm missing you like crazy. I'll talk to you soon. I'll say hi to Robert for you."

Betazed
Tasha Riker read her brother's letter. Ever since she left Titan to study psychology on Betazed she missed her little brother. There weren't that many children on Titan so the ones who were there became very close. She smiled knowing that Robert Picard would show Andy some of the same places he showed her when she visited Earth the previous summer. He told her they were some of the most popular spots for Academy students to relax and have fun.
She was looking forward to her parents visit. They wrote her and told her they
were coming to visit after they got Andy settled and relaxed in Alaska for a
couple of days. Her mother's best friend growing up, Chandra, had started going
through The Phase about a year earlier. Tasha knew that her mother's half-Betazoid
heritage might cause her to go through it a little later. She had some studying
to do but thought she better respond to Andy's letter before she got too engrossed
in the paper she was working on.

Letter 2 - Tasha to Andy
"I'm glad you got there safe and sound. There are times I wish Grandmother would have let me live on campus so I could have the full university experience but living with Grandmother has been an experience. I love her dearly though.
"I hope you and Robert had a good time and that he showed you some of the spots he showed me last summer. If he hasn't already, you have got to get Robert to take you to Ghirardelli Square and Chinatown. The chocolate at Ghirardelli's is awesome and the Chinese food in Chinatown is far superior to replicator Chinese food.
"I agree with you; Mom and Dad's weekend in Alaska will be more romantic than relaxing. I wouldn't be surprised if you're right about Mom's going through the early stages of The Phase. Aunt Chandra has been going through it for about a year now. She comes into class looking tired almost every morning. We all know despite her trying to keep it from us.
"I better finish up. I've got paper to finish. I'll write soon."

Earth
Andy Riker smiled as he read Tasha's letter. His parents had just left for
Betazed to visit Tasha and their grandmother. They looked as if they hadn't
done much relaxing over the weekend. Robert Picard had taken Andy to Ghirardelli's
and Chinatown. Tasha was right the chocolate at Ghirardelli's was awesome. He
had some studying to do but decided to respond to Tasha's letter.
