“It’s a work of art Doc.” Will Riker said proudly to Beverly Crusher.
“Are you referring to the tattoo or my backside?” Deanna asked him, the mischief clear in her voice.
“Both” he grinned back.
Will had taken Deanna down to the same place on Earth he had gotten his tattoo and she had gotten one the same, it had taken a lot of sweet talking on his behalf but she had eventually come around to the idea.
“I don’t know what I was thinking,” she blushed slightly and Will winked at her “I feel like we’re back in the briar patch.”
“I must bring out the rebel in you Dee, what do you think Beverly?” Will was enjoying every minute of seeing the Counselor squirm just a little, usually it was the other way around.
“I think it’s better if I stay out of this,” the Doctor responded after the glance Deanna gave her.
“You’ll pay for this William Riker” was Deanna’s only remark before heading into the examining room.
“I’m counting on it.” His waggling eyebrows were the last thing she saw before entering the room.
Doctor Crusher followed close behind her, then Will who hadn’t yet realized he wasn’t wanted in there.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Deanna asked him.
“Watching” he replied simply.
“Oh no you’re not” she crossed her arms across her chest indicating she wouldn’t be backing down.
“Why not? As I recall you watched very intently when I had my rear end out for show yesterday.”
“That was different, it was your choice to get the tattoo.”
“As it was yours,” he leaned against the doorframe, indicating he also was not backing down.
“You and I both know that isn’t entirely true, you got me in a weak moment.” She was now wishing either he or Beverly would leave as it was getting more embarrassing with every minute.
“Ah, but what a moment it was,” he burst into laughter.
“Will Riker get out now!”
He could see he’d pushed things as far as they were going to go so he conceded and walked out of the room.
When he had gone Deanna proceeded to let Doctor Crusher attend the affected site. “I could kill him sometimes.”
Beverly laughed “It’s not so bad Deanna. Will and I will be the only ones who have seen it or know about it,” she said running her tricorder over the tattoo once she had finished healing it.
“I guess you’re right, except now he’ll be looking at my butt more than usual.”
“And that’s a bad thing?”
“It is on the bridge,” Deanna said sitting up.
“Oh”
Deanna ended the conversation before it went any further by thanking her friend and saying goodbye. Will was still in Sickbay waiting for her and she latched onto his arm and pulled him along with her.
“So do I get a proper look at it?” he asked as they stood in the turbolift.
“That depends.”
“On what?”
“How far are you willing to go Will?” she finally answered as they stood outside the door to her quarters.
“All the way Deanna, all the way,” and with that he pulled her through the door.
