I cannot take this anymore
I'm saying everything I've said before
All these words they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Less I hear the less you'll say
But you'll find that out anyway
He was yelling again. Deanna hated when he yelled at her, it usually meant that
she was going to be going to bed sore that night. She could feel his anger, surging
through his veins, taking control of his better judgment, enabling him to replicate
his first drink of the night.
She had married him a year ago, and then six months ago, when he wasn't given
the promotion he felt he so richly deserved, he started to drink. At first, it
was a cup a night, and then it was two, and then Deanna's first hint of fear was
when he started beating the walls. Three months later, Deanna had replaced the
walls.
She was constantly replicating hypo's, using her own shortcuts for the computer
to mask her requests from Beverly, and she put up her mental walls when she was
around Will.
I find the answers aren't so clear
Wish I could find a way to disappear
All these thoughts they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Nothing seems to go away
Over and over again
Tonight it seemed like his name-calling and abuse wasn't going to stop anytime
soon. It wasn't that Deanna didn't want to stop him and give him a slap, it was
because she couldn't. He overpowered her like Worf did when he fought with Will,
as much as he tried to hold it back, Deanna always knew that Will was only trying
to be the man when he and Worf went at it in the holodeck. Thinking of the two
of them made her forget of reality for a second before he hit her again.
He was infuriated. Deanna was now on the ground, scooting as far back as possible,
until she reached the wall. She was just about to put up her mental shield when
he kicked her, telling her that she was nothing, that he could get the promotion
on his own without her help. That her evaluation was nothing, that it was horseshit
and she had better approve him for the rank of lieutenant commander or the beatings
would keep going and going until she died. He didn't care, he never loved her,
he loved his job. He hated her and her Betazoid bullshit; he only married her
for her reputation.
Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
And then the doors to their quarters were suddenly thrust open, in charging two
very pissed off men. Worf with his security team, and Will with a disturbed look
on his face. He pummeled the astonished man and knocked him out, at the same time
Worf was objecting, saying that that was his job.
Will wanted to tear the man limb from limb. But what was more important at the
moment was Deanna. She had been badly hurt by that last kick, and was probably
already bruising. Her face was stained with tears and her words were choked back
by happy sobs.
Hush my love now don't you cry
Everything will be all right
Close your eyes and drift in dream
And rest in peaceful sleep
"I'll take care of you, Deanna." Will kissed her chestnut hair as she
continued to sob into his chest, both curled onto the floor.

Three months later, the two were married happily on the Enterprise, with their
close friends and their captain marrying them.
It was perfect.
When you are with me
I'm free - I'm careless - I believe
Above all the others we'll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
